Lowers Blood Pressure

Efficiency of low-intensity laser radiation in essential hypertension

Velizhanina IA, Gapon LI, Shabalina MS, Kamalova NN

"This treatment significantly lowered systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure. Moreover, diastolic arterial pressure did not rise high at submaximal bicycle exercise. Total peripheral vascular resistance also decreased. A good hypotensive effect was achieved in 90.4% cases. Thus, LILR is a highly effective treatment in essential hypertension stage l. “LBI led to the pronounced positive changes in electro-physiological characteristics of the cardiovascular system of the patients, it also led to the pronounced anti-arrhythmic effect.” (full abstract)

Influence of low-level laser radiation on kidney functions

Koultcavenia, Ekaterina V. - AA(Novosibirsk Research Institute of Tuberculosis)

“Is proved, that after a rate of laserotherapy the improving of a blood micricirculation in kidney occurs in 57.9% of patients; a secretion - in 63.1% of the patients; a stimulation of urodynamic is fixed in 79% of cases. Magnification of diuresis, improving filtration and concentration functions of kidneys also is marked.” (full abstract)

Treatment for Allergic Rhinitis

Efficacy of noninvasive hemolaserotherapy in patients with bronchial asthma and concomitant rhinosinusitis

Nikitin AV; Treshchalina LuB

“Use of infrared laser radiation of the tympanic membrane and paranasal sinuses projection in the treatment of BA patients with RS is effective, nontoxic and easy to use both in hospitals and outpatient departments.” (full abstract)

Lowers Blood Lipids

Laser correction of microcirculation disorders in patients having CHD with hypercholesterinemia

A P Vasil'ev , M A Sekisova , N N Strel'tsova , Iu N Senatorov

“After receiving a course of low-intensity infrared laser radiation treatment the patients displayed positive changes in blood lipid spectrum, which was associated with improvement in microcirculation, decrease in afterload, increase in economization of heart functioning and activity tolerance. The obtained results demonstrate that the hypolipidemic effect of laser radiation is a substantial factor in the regression of CHD manifestations." (full abstract)

Dynamics of lipid metabolism and peripheral blood flow rates in patients with atherosclerosis in conjunction with renal dysfunction after the course of combined laser therapy.

Kovalyova T V et al.

“The study has demonstrated a decreased level of total cholesterol , LDL cholesterol and triglycerides with an simultaneous increase of HDL cholesterol levels. No pharmaceuticals were given during the treatment period.” (full abstract)

The effect of low-intensity laser radiation in the infrared and red ranges on arterial pressure regulation in patients with borderline hypertension

Shuvalova IN, Klimenko IT, Zhukova LP, Oborin IuI.

“Employment of low-intensity laser irradiation in the rehabilitation of patients with borderline hypertension during the sanatorium stage was noted to strikingly enhance the efficiency of the therapy administered.”  (full abstract)

Strengthens Immune System

Helium-neon and nitrogen laser irradiation accelerates the phagocytic activity of human monocytes.

Hemvani N, Chitnis DS, Bhagwanani NS. - Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Choithram Hospital & Research Centre, Indore, India.

"Enhanced killing of mycobacterial cells was seen among monocytes exposed to He-Ne and nitrogen laser irradiation. CONCLUSIONS: He-Ne and nitrogen laser irradiation activates the monocytes to increase intracellular killing of mycobacteria". (full abstract)

The biological effects of 632.8-nm low energy He-Ne laser on peripheral blood mononuclear cells in vitro.

Gulsoy M, Ozer GH, Bozkulak O, Tabakoglu HO, Aktas E, Deniz G, Ertan C. - Bogazici University, Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Kuzey Kampus Bebek, 34342 Istanbul, Turkey.

"The aim of this study was to examine the proliferation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells due to low energy 632.8-nm He-Ne laser application. The results of previous studies supported the hypothesis that low level laser therapy (LLLT) might have an increasing effect on the proliferation of lymphocytes and production of cytokines ..... Our results showed that He-Ne laser application enhanced the proliferation significantly". (full abstract)

General

Experimental study of low level laser radiation effects on human blood cells.

Siposan D, Adalbert L (Bucharest, Roumania)

“Following irradiation a lowering of the erythrocytary aggreagability (viscosity), BSR, and changes of some erythrocytary and leukocytary indices have been observed. The effect of low-level laser radiation on the red cell confirms the non-resonant mechanism of this bio-stimulating radiation effect by the changes in the cell membrane, in our case the blood cells, by revitalizing the red blood cell functional capacities and by several biochemical effects on the membrane level, that are to be studied thoroughly in future studies.” (full abstract)
