Introduction
VieLight Blue LEDs activates chemicals called porphyrins (which are produced by the P. acnes bacteria responsible for causing acne inflammation) creating intracellular singlet oxygen – inducing bacterial cell death. This is combined with VieLight Red LEDs which has anti inflammatory properties, minimizing the redness of acne lesions and promoting healthier skin.
This reduces the bacterial colonization of the sebaceous gland, reducing sebum production to normal and reducing the production of proinflammatory cytokines. Simultaneously, the blue LEDs induces anti-inflammatory cytokines, stimulating specific immunoregulatory pathways. Studies have shown combination blue & red phototherapy reduces inflammatory acne lesion count by up to 80% 12 weeks from the end of treatment.
VieLight Flex Blue LEDs uses the optimal 415 nm narrow band violet/blue light. Some competing phototherapy devices use lamps with spectrums starting from 405 nm (which is closer to UV), hence the incidence of skin darkening is higher. However, this does not occur with VieLight Flex Blue LEDs. Moreover, concurrent use with VieLight Flex red LEDs stimulates anti-inflammatory processes & further lowers the incidence of skin darkening.
Nett result is reduction in inflammatory lesions of at least 70% at 3-4 months post-treatment and reduction in sebum production by 50% & hence reduction in pore size.
No consumable cost
The life span of an LED is typically rated at over 30,000 hours - over 80 years, if the device is used 1 hour everyday.
Very safe to use
There is no chance of getting burned. No overdose of phototherapy. No side effects.
The only safety measure required is to cover the eyes from the bright light.
